There are so many great TVs on sale right now that even those that we didn’t make our top list could be a great option for you. Here are some of our favorites that missed the cut.
TCL Q6 (2024): This affordable model from TCL has some of the most impressive highlights we’ve seen on a cheap TV without fancy local dimming. I love the ease of color, especially when watching modern classics like Dune and Mad Max: Fury Road. Built-in Google interface makes streaming and casting easy. TCL has a history of creating affordable and durable screens, so you don’t have to think too hard about your purchase.
Sony Bravia 7: The Bravia 7 (7/10, WIRED Recommends) is a gorgeous display with brilliant brightness, natural colors, and delicate details. The biggest drawback is poor off-axis visibility, and its high list price may be hard to swallow. Otherwise, it’s worth considering for fans of Sony brilliance, especially since Sony appears to be offering unusual discounts on multiple model sizes.
TCL QM7: Only one thing keeps the beautifully balanced QM7 (6/10, WIRED review) off the main list. It’s a software glitch. During our review, we encountered an issue where adjusting SDR backlight levels could affect HDR and lead to severe brightness limitations. TCL fixed the issue with a firmware update, but it’s not widely available yet. Most people probably won’t run into this problem. So the QM7 is still worth considering, and TCL is expecting an extensive firmware update in December.
Samsung S95C: The S95C (8/10, WIRED Recommended) is a great choice while available. It might even be a better option for those who don’t want or need a matte screen on the 2024 model. It still stands as one of the best OLED TVs you can buy, especially considering its affordable sale price.
Samsung QN90C: Another great deal still available, Samsung’s QN90C (8/10, WIRED Recommends) has long been one of our favorite bright room TVs. Available in a wide range of sizes, they offer bright, colorful images and plenty of extras. This is especially attractive given that prices continue to fall.
