With its rich history, vast green spaces, and top-notch museums, Boston is a must-see city for travelers. I may be biased (I grew up here), but I think more people should visit, especially history buffs and foodies.
Whether you’re strolling the cobblestone streets of Beacon Hill, strolling through the lively Seaport District, or enjoying the iconic views along the Charles River, this city has so much to offer (don’t miss the Freedom Trail!) .
When looking for a place to stay, Boston has plenty of options for all types of travelers and budgets. But some of those hotels are better than others. Anything else should be avoided completely.
To help you find the perfect base for your stay, here is a list of the best hotels in Boston.
1. The Godfrey Hotel Boston
Godfrey Hotel is a stylish boutique hotel in the heart of downtown. One thing I really like here is that they provide free bikes, helmets, and locks. This is great for covering more ground while exploring. There is also a fitness center with Peloton bikes. For breakfast, head to the on-site cafe, which serves pastries, freshly brewed coffee, and breakfast sandwiches. The hotel restaurant is also very good (it’s a Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant with a cool interior and great cocktails). For a nightcap, we recommend the hotel’s lobby bar. I also like that they offer a free welcome drink.
Rooms are sleek and minimalist, with comfortable beds with fluffy linens and windows that let in lots of natural light (blackout curtains ensure a good night’s sleep). You’ll appreciate thoughtful amenities like a convenient workspace, small refrigerator, 55-inch Samsung HDTV, BOSE Bluetooth speakers, and yoga mat. The bathroom is equally impressive, with a glass-enclosed shower, premium toiletries and soft bathrobes. Overall, this hotel’s central location, chic design, and extensive amenities make it an excellent choice for travelers looking for comfort and convenience in the heart of the city.

2. Stay Pineapple Boston
This quirky and fun boutique hotel is located in the Back Bay, just steps from Boston Common and within walking distance of many of the city’s top attractions. The hotel’s design is bold and vibrant, with pineapple-themed decor throughout. Don’t worry. It looks better than I expected, a playful twist on a classic early 20th century building. I love that they provide a free welcome drink at the hotel bar/restaurant upon check-in, and free coffee, tea, and snacks in the lobby in the afternoon. Breakfast is not served on site, but there are many places nearby that serve breakfast. In addition, the hotel provides free bicycles for getting around the city.
Although compact, this guest room has an efficient layout that makes the most of the space. Like the rest of the hotel, rooms are bright and colorful, with playful pineapple accents, comfortable beds with soft bedding, and thoughtful amenities such as Keurig coffee makers, fluffy robes, slippers, and small desks. Equipped with: I also like that the room has a reusable water bottle filled with filtered water (you can take it with you, leave it behind, and have it recycled when you leave). The bathroom is sleek and new, with a glass shower, high quality toiletries and huge plush towels.
Overall, this hotel is perfect for travelers looking for a unique, low-budget stay in a prime location. It’s especially recommended for travelers with pets, as it has dog-friendly rooms and plenty of amenities.

3. Langham
Housed in a landmark former Federal Reserve Bank building, this unique 5-star hotel combines historic charm with modern luxury. I love walking through the grand entrance and into the stunning lobby, decorated with grand chandeliers and marble accents. The former banking hall is now home to the hotel’s signature restaurant, Grana, which serves a classic and unique fusion of Italian and New England cuisine (like lobster cannoli), as well as everything from fresh pastries to Florentine cuisine. We offer a wonderful breakfast, with even more luxurious dishes such as Benedict. I also love The Fed, a British cocktail bar. We offer great cocktails, fine pub food, and free jazz every Friday. There’s also a high-tech fitness center open 24/7, and a beautiful heated indoor pool with sauna for when you want to relax.
Our spacious and luxurious rooms feature plush bedding, carefully selected artwork from local artists, stylish furniture, and large windows that let in plenty of natural light. In-room amenities include a large work desk, Nespresso machine, fully stocked minibar (we love that it’s loaded with local produce), safe, and a 50-inch flat-screen TV. The bathrooms in each guest room are equally spacious and beautifully designed, with luxurious marble finishes and walk-in rainfall showers (some rooms also have deep soaking tubs).
The Langham is perfect for travelers looking for a centrally located hotel that combines old world charm with modern comfort. If you’re looking for luxury, look no further.

5. Newbury Hotel Boston
This iconic five-star hotel is a masterpiece of classic elegance, located on Newbury Street, across from the historic Boston Public Garden. Opened in 1927 as the first-ever Ritz-Carlton hotel, it recently underwent an extensive two-year restoration and reopened as The Newbury. We love the luxurious, moody feel throughout, with velvet furniture, richly colored walls, and custom artwork. I especially like the library lounge, which is reserved for guests only. Perfect for relaxing with a drink, picking up a book from the shelf and reading. For breakfast, we recommend the fantastic rooftop restaurant Contessa. This restaurant serves upscale Italian-American cuisine, including panettone French toast and carbonara scramble. You can also enjoy a classic egg or pancake breakfast at the hotel’s Street Bar.
Rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, featuring custom-designed furniture, original illustrations on the walls, and soft lighting to create a calming atmosphere. Each room features a luxurious king or queen bed with a premium mattress.
