Known for its rich musical heritage and Southern charm, Nashville is one of my favorite cities in the United States. Whether you’re a fan of country music or a foodie looking for delicious barbecue, this city has something for everyone.
As a popular weekend destination (and hotspot for single/bachelorettes), there are plenty of hotels to choose from here. I’ve visited this city several times over the years and stayed in some really cool and unique hotels. I’ve also stayed in places that weren’t worth the time (or money).
Here is a list of our favorite hotels in Nashville. Plan your trip and make the most of your time in Music City.
1. Russell
This boutique hotel is housed in an all-brick church built in the early 20th century. We love that many of the original features have been preserved, including the stained glass windows, brick walls, and the original guest seating (reused as the room’s headboard). In recognition of the building’s history of supporting the East Nashville community, a portion of the hotel’s proceeds will be donated to nonprofit organizations that support people experiencing homelessness. That means, for example, a weekend stay at The Russell could provide 16 nights of shelter to someone in need.
The Russell is a colorful property with a bright, high-ceilinged lobby, eclectic furniture and complimentary tea and coffee. Each of the 23 rooms features a different décor, including local artwork, curated by one of Nashville’s most famous designers. All rooms feature typical hotel amenities such as flat-screen TVs, complimentary toiletries, mini-fridges, Keurig coffee makers, and desks, as well as unique perks such as noise makers and complimentary local snack baskets. Masu. The bathroom is colorfully tiled and has a mirror in the shape of a church window (a nice design).
It’s a great place to stay in East Nashville, a cool part of the city filled with unpretentious (and great) restaurants, cutting-edge art galleries, and craft cocktail bars. If you are traveling by car, there is also free parking across the street.

2. Placemakul Sobro
If you’re planning on staying in town for a while, or just want to make use of the kitchen, this hotel offers fully-equipped studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Each room has an industrial-chic design with exposed pipes, high ceilings, and colorful artwork on the walls. Large windows let in lots of light and offer great views of the city. For even more spectacular views, relax at the rooftop pool and lounge area. We also love that it’s right next to the city’s major attractions, including the Johnny Cash Museum and Ryman Auditorium.
All units include a dedicated workspace (perfect for when you need to work on the go), washer/dryer, 55-inch Apple TV with streaming, dishwasher, stove, sink, microwave, and full-size There is a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator. , coffee maker, stove kettle. Some units also have a private balcony. There is no breakfast on site, but Sun Diner, open 24/7, is just a few blocks away. It’s retro, kitschy, and fun, paying homage to Sun Records’ legendary artists (like Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash) while also offering Southern favorites. I always eat here when I visit.

3.1 Hotel Nashville
Choose this hotel when you want to enjoy a luxurious stay. The 5-star property boasts over 56,000 plants planted on its façade, and we love all the sustainability considerations. The hotel’s restaurant serves farm-to-table cuisine made with sustainably sourced ingredients from breakfast to dinner. For day trips, you can also book an Audi electric car. As an avid gym goer, I also really appreciated the 24/7 fitness center (they also offer complimentary group fitness classes to hotel guests). For even more relaxation, a full-service wellness spa is also available.
The spacious rooms have wood-paneled walls and floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of light. Pillowtop beds with sustainably sourced bedding are extremely comfortable, and in-room amenities include a 55-inch flat-screen TV, minibar, safe, Nespresso machine, and even a yoga mat. I really like that all faucets have filters. So you can avoid single-use plastic bottles by filling your own bottles with water or using the included upcycled wine-to-water bottles. The bathroom was a little small, but we liked the rain shower and comfortable bathrobes and slippers. There are also free eco-friendly toiletries. If you have more budget, it’s a really relaxing place.

4. Board
This apartment hotel offers comfortable suites and apartments just blocks from Honky Tonk Highway and all of the city’s museums. I think it’s the best value in this area. It’s a modern, unstaffed hotel (you check in online to get a key code), but it still has a cocktail bar and retro cafe (serving breakfast sandwiches and smoothies) that makes it a hot topic. I like being there. There’s also a large outdoor area with loungers, a fire pit, and cornhole. As a solo traveler, I always appreciate when hotels create shared spaces like this for travelers to connect with each other.
The rooms have a warm, contemporary style and very comfortable beds. All rooms have the basic amenities such as a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities, and apartments have a kitchenette with dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. Some larger apartments have fun amenities like foosball tables. Perfect for travelers on a budget who want a central location.

5. Alumni
If you like Dolly Parton, you should stay here. This 4-star boutique hotel is completely Dolly-themed, with lots of bright colors, a retro theme, and vibrant Dory-inspired art and memorabilia throughout. . I love how kitschy everything is. There are 3 restaurants on site. There’s also a lobby cafe serving breakfast to-go, a highly Instagrammable rooftop cocktail bar with panoramic views of the city, and even a karaoke bar with an animatronic backing band on weekends. There is also a rooftop pool, although it costs an additional fee (and it is small and requires reservations, so I decided not to do so).
Rooms are spacious and feature country glam, with striped walls, brightly patterned carpeting, and portraits of country music stars above the headboards. All rooms have velvet lounge chairs, large writing desks, electric kettles with tea/coffee and flat-screen TVs. The black and white tiled bathroom provides a dark and moody contrast with a pedestal sink and complimentary toiletries. The carnival-like atmosphere may not be for everyone (especially on the weekends, when there are lots of bachelorette parties and influencers taking pictures), but if you want something really unique, this is the place.

6. Waymore’s Guest House & Casual Club
In contrast to the noisy Dolly Hotel, this stylish 3-star hotel is perfect for travelers looking for a quiet and affordable place to stay. I love that they have a cafe in the lobby that serves diner-style breakfast in the morning and drinks and bar snacks all day long in the evening. It’s nice to be able to have a quick meal after returning from sightseeing. There’s also a really cool cocktail bar on the rooftop with DJ nights.
The hotel offers a variety of rooms, from standard hotel rooms to rooms with bunk beds and suites with kitchenettes for groups traveling together. All rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, a writing desk, and local artwork on the walls. I also like that the minibar is stocked with local snacks. The tiled bathroom is quite large and includes a walk-in shower and high-quality bath products. Perfect for travelers looking for something simple, stylish and affordable in East Nashville.
