Canada’s Rover Tiny Homes takes an interesting approach to downsizing with its Cypress model. Although this tiny home is not trailered, it provides more space for the loss of portability and has a very spacious interior that is suitable for families.
The Cypress is designed to be installed on a permanent foundation instead of a trailer. At 44 feet (13.4 meters) long, it’s the largest tiny house on the market and 12 feet (3.6 meters) wide.
The home is finished with metal siding and has cedar trim, and plenty of glass helps fill the interior with natural light. Double glazed doors give access to the living room. It’s very spacious and open for a small home, and the decor includes a tongue-and-groove pine ceiling and ornaments made from reclaimed wood from a 100-year-old barn, as well as a couch and chairs. There are two small tables.
There is a kitchen nearby. This includes a breakfast bar for 3 people, oven with 4 burner stove, microwave, dishwasher, sink and lots more furniture. There is also a second entrance here.
The bathroom is located near the kitchen and has a bathtub and shower, which is very rare in a tiny house, as well as a vanity and flush toilet. There is a washer and dryer stacked inside.
Cypress has one bedroom downstairs. In this example model, the ceiling where the bed is actually located is low, but there is headroom for standing upright.
Additionally, a staircase near the bathroom leads to another bedroom. Unusually, given that it is on the second floor, there is also enough headroom to stand upright, but the owner will have to climb onto the bed itself. Finally, there is a third bedroom on the second floor. Low ceilings typical of tiny house style.
Cypress is on sale for $199,900 CAD (approximately $143,000 USD).
