If you’re worried about losing your wallet, you can purchase a tracker card for an additional $49. I chose the Android version. It works with the Chipolo network to display the wallet’s last known location on a map. There’s also an iOS version that works with Apple’s Find My network. Like all the best trackers, both versions allow you to ring your wallet from your phone. This is perfect when you’re planning on catching a train and your wallet slips between the couch cushions. You can also set up a lost item alert, so you’ll be notified if your wallet goes out of range of your phone.
Battery life is up to 6 months for the iOS tracker and around 3 months for the Android version. You can also connect and charge iOS models, but Android trackers have a small solar panel to keep them charged. It’s about the thickness of a few cards and fits perfectly in your back pocket. I have never lost my wallet.
more minimalist
The Ekster Parliament is my favorite, but I’ve also tested several other models from Ekster. The Cardholder and Cardholder Pro ditch the leather exterior for a sleeker finish and come in fun colors and patterns like forged magma and carbon fiber. It retains its triggers and other features, making it ideal if you want to travel as light as possible. I have given it to several people and my oldest son uses the Exter Card Holder and loves it.
If you choose a minimalist wallet like this, you will have limited space, no space for coins, and only limited space for banknotes. However, there are optional add-ons. Modular additions include a multi-tool card ($49), cash clip backplate ($29), and coin tray ($29). Coin trays are very convenient and can also hold your keys, but adding too many extra items can make your wallet bulky.
After all, Ekster Parliament has been in my inner pocket for several years and is still working perfectly. I’ll never forget my fat old wallet, and I still enjoy pulling the trigger on it every time I reach for my cards. The tracker was also a lifesaver on several occasions, reassuring me that I hadn’t left my wallet inside another jacket and gone somewhere. Although a bit pricey, this may be the last wallet you ever need to buy.
