You don’t need green thumb, floor space, or serious commitment to create a thriving indoor oasis with this functional vertical garden. You also won’t need a lot of cash, as the entire kit costs around $85.
It’s no secret that we love vertical gardens here, whether on a large commercial scale, as architectural green walls, or as functional home decor. In fact, if you click on a New Atlas topic, you can spend a day down the rabbit hole of vertical gardens.
This little gem, oddly known as the Linne Garden, continues the trend of low-maintenance, versatile, and space-saving green spaces, but it also doubles as wall art. Created by architectural and industrial designers, it’s no surprise that this product is as beautiful as it is useful.

The 16 holes dotted around the front of the LinnéGarden can fit 16 conical tubs and 16 growing pads to accommodate the same number of plants. But the design of your garden is up to you. Plant herbs and lettuce on your kitchen bench or succulents on your living room walls.
No matter which option you choose, the system is designed to provide water almost automatically. The base tank holds 800 ml of water, and the other four reservoirs hold a total of 720 ml, so refill it every 7-10 days, depending on the plant’s needs. All you need is Being hydroponic, growth is dependent on water and the plants will automatically take in water every 24 hours while there is water in the system.

Regarding light, the system operates somewhat independently of natural light. Instead, it is equipped with multispectral LED grow lights that can be adjusted via the app to optimize germination and photosynthesis. Of course, because LinnéGarden is as much about how it looks as it is about how it works, these lights can also be synced with music from your smart device for a pretty cute interactive visual feature.

The creators say no experience is necessary to start and maintain a garden, but plant lovers can try their hand at cuttings, ferns, and even elaborate flowering greens. Can be done. And each of the 16 pods is its own garden bed, growing independently from its neighbors, giving you lots of room to experiment.

Having met its crowdfunding goal, LinnéGarden is available for purchase for approximately $85 (HK$661), 38% off the expected retail price, and is scheduled to ship worldwide in December. Expect an additional $19 to ship one unit to the United States.
The basic unit is available in white, gray, or teal. Comes with charging cable, 16 planting baskets, and 16 planting sponges. It also comes with 3 blocking points to plug unused holes in case you want to get more creative with your design.
There are plenty of add-ons to inspire your creativity, including a set of decorative Christmas pins and kitschy cute panda figurines that attach to the unit. Please note that it weighs 2 kg (4.4 lb) without the plant, and if you want to hang it, you will need to provide a wall mount and a power source for charging.
