The other day, I was lying on the couch watching “The Sopranos” as usual.
In this episode, Tony looks at the hospital bulletin board and sees the following:
…These words on a notecard: “Sometimes I walk around feeling sorry for myself, but all the while a great wind carries me across the sky.” At first, Tony feels like he’s been blown away. I feel it. Who put the card there and why? — but it affected him enough that he said garbled words to friends and relatives many times afterward.
I’ve been thinking about this saying and sentiment as the holidays approach. What has been difficult in your life recently and what drove you? What small or big things are you grateful for? We’d love to hear from you.
Thank you to the professional photographers at Dave & Busters for taking these cute photos of my kids.
I am grateful for WhatsApp as a way to stay in close contact with loved ones in the UK, especially in times of illness or loss.
I felt extremely lucky to see Cole Escola’s moving performance in the dark comedy play Oh, Mary! They are a revelation, a genius, and a firework!
Of course, I would like to thank not only my family, but also my friends who feel like family. Like everyone, there’s a lot going on behind the scenes and it’s great to have a mutual support system.
And last but not least, this amazing community is made up of smart, funny, and thoughtful people. We have been through a lot together over the past 18 years. I sincerely hope you are doing well. Thank you very much for being here. Shit
Come on, tell us about yourself! What’s been tough lately? What helps carry you? What are you grateful for?
PS Life lessons I learned at my grandmother’s funeral and happiness and wholeness.
