Installation Guide

Everything you need to safely install and set up your Liglite lighting products.

Proper installation ensures long life, safe operation, and optimal lighting performance.
Please follow the guidelines below and consult a qualified electrician for all hard-wired fixtures.

1️⃣ Important Safety Notice (Read Before Installing)

To avoid fire, electric shock, injury, or product damage:

  • Turn OFF power at the main breaker before installation.

  • Do not install if wiring appears damaged or exposed.

  • Always check that the voltage rating on your fixture matches your home’s electrical supply (usually 220–240V in India).

  • Do not install lights in damp/wet areas unless they are explicitly IP-rated.

  • Integrated LED fixtures should not be opened or disassembled.

If unsure, stop immediately and contact a licensed electrician.

2️⃣ Who Should Install Liglite Fixtures?

Hard-wired ceiling and wall lights:

✔ Must be installed by a licensed electrician
✔ Required for maintaining the manufacturer’s warranty

Plug-in table lamps and floor lamps:

✔ Can be assembled by the customer
✔ Follow the included instruction manual

DIY installation on wired fixtures may void warranty depending on manufacturer policy.

3️⃣ Preparing for Installation

Before starting, ensure you have:

  • A stable ladder

  • Proper lighting (if night installation)

  • Screwdriver set

  • Insulation tape

  • Voltage tester

  • Wire connectors / terminal block (if needed)

  • Original fixture packaging containing:
    • mounting plate
    • screws
    • connectors
    • canopy/cover
    • user manual

Inspect the fixture for any visible damage before installation.

4️⃣ Standard Installation Steps (Ceiling & Wall Lights)

(These are general instructions for most modern fixtures. Your product manual may include model-specific steps.)

Step 1 — Turn Off Power

Cut power at the main circuit breaker.
Verify with a voltage tester that wires are not live.

Step 2 — Remove Old Fixture (If Any)

Carefully detach the old light, support the weight, and disconnect the wiring.

Step 3 — Prepare the Mounting Plate

Most Liglite fixtures include a mounting bracket/plate.

  • Attach the bracket to the junction box

  • Ensure it is stable and level

  • Tighten screws firmly

Step 4 — Connect the Wires

Match the wires correctly:

  • Live (L): Brown or Red

  • Neutral (N): Blue or Black

  • Earth (E): Green/Yellow (if applicable)

Use wire connectors or terminal blocks.
Avoid loose connections — loose wiring is a fire risk.

Step 5 — Attach the Fixture

Once wiring is secure:

  • Align the fixture

  • Attach the canopy or wall plate

  • Tighten screws until secure (but not overly tight)

Step 6 — Install Bulbs (If Applicable)

For non-integrated fixtures:

  • Use bulbs that match recommended type (E27, E14, GU10, G9, etc.)

  • Check wattage limit (e.g., max 40W)

For integrated LED fixtures, skip this step.

Step 7 — Turn Power Back On

Restore power at the breaker.
Test for correct operation:

  • Light turns on smoothly

  • No flickering

  • No buzzing

  • No burning smell or overheating

If you notice any issues, turn power off and contact an electrician.

5️⃣ Installation Tips for Different Fixture Types

Ceiling Chandeliers

  • Ensure the ceiling can support the weight

  • Use heavy-duty anchors if no junction box

  • Assemble crystals/acrylic pieces AFTER mounting

Pendant Lights

  • Adjust cable length before wiring

  • Keep pendants 30–36 inches above countertops / dining tables

  • Use a level for multi-pendant alignment

Wall Sconces

  • Ideal height: 5–6 feet from floor

  • For bedside sconces: 18–24 inches above headboard

Track & Linear Lights

  • Ensure rail alignment

  • For large installations, use multiple mounting points

Table Lamps / Floor Lamps

  • Follow simple assembly

  • Install the correct bulb type

  • Plug into a surge-protected socket

6️⃣ False Ceiling Installation Guide

Most Liglite fixtures are suitable for POP/gypsum false ceilings.

Checklist:
✔ Ensure accessible junction box
✔ Use the included mounting plate
✔ Allow airflow around LED drivers
✔ Avoid placing insulation directly on the fixture
✔ Keep transformer/driver accessible for future servicing

If unsure, consult your installer.

7️⃣ After Installation: What to Check

  • No flickering

  • No discoloration near wires

  • No loose screws

  • Fixture is level and stable

  • Driver is mounted securely

  • Correct color temperature (3000K/4000K/6000K)

  • Dimmable fixtures are paired with LED-compatible dimmers

8️⃣ Cleaning & Maintenance (Important)

Do Not:

✘ Use water directly on fixtures
✘ Spray cleaners into electrical areas
✘ Use abrasive cloths
✘ Cover fixtures with fabric or decor

Do:

✔ Use a dry microfiber cloth
✔ Dust monthly for optimal brightness
✔ Check screws every 6–12 months
✔ Turn power off before cleaning

9️⃣ When to Contact a Professional

Stop installation immediately if you notice:

  • Loose or burnt wires

  • Sparks or tripping circuit

  • Buzzing or humming sound

  • Fixture too hot to touch

  • Incorrect wiring color codes

  • Cracked or damaged mounting points

Never attempt self-repair on integrated LED fixtures.
